Movana Summer Storage – Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: March 1, 2026 Movana, Inc.

Company: Movana, Inc. (“Movana,” “we,” “our,” or “us”)

Service: Movana Summer Storage Program (“Service”)

By reserving, booking, or using the Movana Summer Storage Service, you (“Customer”) agree to the following legally binding Terms and Conditions.

1. Overview of Service

Movana provides seasonal student storage services which may include:

  • AI-powered inventory documentation through the Movana app
  • Delivery of packing supplies (if applicable)
  • Pickup of packed boxes and approved items
  • Local summer storage
  • Redelivery at the beginning of the academic term

All services are subject to availability and operational capacity.

2. Payment Terms & Refund Policy

2.1 Non-Refundable Deposit

A $25 deposit is required to reserve service.

The $25 deposit is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.

2.2 Full Payment Deadline

Full payment must be received by April 24th.

If only the deposit has been paid and full payment is not received by April 24th, the remaining balance will be automatically charged on April 25th to the payment method on file.

By submitting a deposit, you authorize Movana to charge the remaining balance if unpaid by the deadline.

2.3 Refund Limitations

If full payment is made, it is refundable only within two (2) weeks of the payment date.

No refunds will be issued after April 24th — no exceptions.

After April 24th, all payments are final regardless of cancellation, housing changes, withdrawal from school, or personal circumstances.

3. Inventory & Service Limits

Movana relies on the inventory submitted through the Movana app to plan labor, transportation, and storage.

3.1 Included Storage Capacity

Movana will only move and store:

  • Up to six (6) standard boxes, and
  • Up to two (2) unboxed items (examples include: lamps, mini-fridge, bicycle, mattress).

3.2 Additional or Undisclosed Items

Items not included in the submitted inventory are not guaranteed to be accepted.

If additional items are presented at pickup, Movana reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Refuse acceptance of additional items;
  • Charge additional fees; or
  • Decline service without refund after April 24th if the discrepancy materially impacts operations.

Pickup personnel have final discretion regarding volume and eligibility.

4. Refrigerators & Cooling Appliances

Refrigerators, mini-fridges, freezers, or cooling appliances must be:

  • Fully emptied
  • Cleaned
  • Completely defrosted
  • Fully dry inside prior to pickup

If not properly prepared, Movana reserves the right to:

  • Refuse acceptance on moving day; or
  • Charge an additional $100 service fee.

This fee will be charged to the payment method on file.

Movana is not responsible for mold, leakage, odor, or water damage caused by improperly prepared cooling appliances.

5. Mattress Policy

If a mattress is included in the inventory, Movana may provide a mattress bag in the packing supplies.

Customer responsibilities:

  • Mattress must be completely dry.
  • Mattress must be enclosed and sealed in the provided bag.

Improperly bagged mattresses may be refused or subject to additional service fees.

Movana is not responsible for stains, moisture retention, mold, or odor in mattresses not properly sealed.

6. Storage Location

All items are stored locally in secure facilities selected by Movana.

Facility locations are not publicly disclosed for security reasons.

Climate control may be provided, but specific temperature or humidity levels are not guaranteed unless stated in writing.

7. Item Access During Summer

Customers may request access to stored items by emailing: [email protected]

A minimum of 72 hours’ written notice is required.

Access is subject to scheduling availability.

Two (2) or more access requests during the summer storage period may result in a $75 service fee, charged at Movana’s discretion.

8. Late Pickup / Missed Pickup

Customers must be present and fully packed at the scheduled pickup time.

If pickup cannot be completed due to customer fault, Movana may:

  • Charge a $75 missed appointment fee
  • Reschedule subject to availability
  • Charge additional labor/transportation fees
  • Cancel service without refund after April 24th

9. Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited:

  • Perishable food
  • Liquids
  • Hazardous materials
  • Flammable or explosive materials
  • Illegal substances
  • Weapons or ammunition
  • Cash, jewelry, or irreplaceable documents
  • Live plants or animals

Movana may refuse, dispose of, or report prohibited items without notice.

10. Moisture Damage Waiver

Customer agrees that all items packed for storage are completely dry.

Movana is not liable for mold, mildew, odor, staining, warping, or cross-contamination caused by improperly packed items.

Customer assumes responsibility for moisture-related damage resulting from improperly packed items.

11. Damage Claim Process

All claims must be submitted within 72 hours of redelivery to: [email protected]

Movana reserves sole discretion to approve or deny claims and limit compensation.

12. Limitation of Liability

Movana’s liability is strictly limited to $100 per box or $0.60 per pound per item, whichever is less.

Total liability shall not exceed the total amount paid.

13. Abandonment

Items not claimed within 30 days may be disposed of without liability.

14. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Customer agrees not to initiate fraudulent chargebacks.

App-generated records constitute valid proof of service.

15. Force Majeure

Movana is not liable for delays caused by events beyond its control.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
