We use the information we collect for various purposes, including:
- To create and manage your Movana account.
- To provide, operate, and maintain the core functions of our Service, primarily to connect you with movers and facilitate your move.
- To communicate with you, including sending service-related notifications (e.g., booking confirmations) and responding to your support requests.
- For marketing and promotional purposes, from which you may opt-out as described in Section 5.
- To analyze usage patterns to understand how our Service is used and how we can improve it.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- How We Share Your Information
We do not rent or sell your personal information. We may share your information with the following third parties only in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy.
- Moving Partners: The core function of Movana is to connect you with moving companies. To fulfill a service request you make, we will share necessary personal information (such as your name, contact details, and pickup/drop-off addresses) with the moving partner you select.
- Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf. These include:
- Google Analytics: To analyze app usage and performance.
- Firebase (by Google): For cloud hosting and database management. These providers only have access to the information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- Law Enforcement and Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud, or protect the personal safety of our users or the public.
- Your Data Rights and Choices
You have the following rights and choices regarding your information:
- Access and Update: You can access and update your personal information at any time through your account settings within the Movana app.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through a feature in the app. Upon your request, we will permanently and immediately delete all your associated personal data from our active systems. You can request data deletion by using the email listed below.
- Opt-Out of Marketing Communications: If we send you promotional or marketing emails, you will have the option to opt-out by following the “unsubscribe” link provided in the email. You will continue to receive essential service-related (transactional) emails even after opting out of marketing messages.
- Data Security and Retention
- Security: We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including data encryption at rest and in transit (using SSL/TLS technology) and regular security audits, to help keep your information secure. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- Retention: We will retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Upon your request, your information is deleted immediately as described in Section 5.
- Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from an individual under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers.
